Early this year, I wrote about going to Chicago for my birthday last year. I share some of my photos from that trip on here. But I realized that I had not shared some of the architecture photos that I took. I took an architecture boat tour at sunset with Chicago’s First Lady Cruises and it was worth it! It’s a great way to see the city and get some history and information on all the unique buildings and locations in the city.
When visiting any city or town, it’s a good idea to take a tour of some kind. I have never met a tour guide that wasn’t enthusiastic about their community and its history.
Thanks for visiting! If you are interested in purchasing prints of the above images, you can visit my Etsy shop, Purple Rosemary or my Pixels shop.
Beautiful captures of the windy city. I like the photography building – architecture.
Thank you, Louis!
Nice cityscape photos. Sounds like a fun cruise
Thank you!
I think I’ve been on this or a similar cruise in Chicago, but doing so as the sun was setting was a great idea. Some very nice shots in great light!
Thank you, Steve!
Beautiful cityscape photos Sharon! Been years since I visited Chicago your images make me want to visit again.
Thank you, Bob!
Oh, yes, I wholeheartedly agree, taking a tour is great. The last two time I’ve been in Chicago we were vising “locals” so we were kept in the loop (yes, pun intended). But when we go to a new place on our own we do try to find a tour and, if weather permits, we really like carriage rides. Nice photographs you’ve got there – they make me want a return visit.
Thanks, Bill! They make me want to go back too! I feel like I may have missed some things!
[…] week, I wrote about finding photos from Chicago that I had not worked. There were some great images taken at sunset while on an architecture […]
What fabulous architecture! I have never been to Chicago, I love the glass buildings and reflections.
Thank you!
I’ve taken this cruise – it’s great – and those photos really capture the feeling. I want one of those apartments overlooking the river – if I just had a spare million or two laying around…
No kidding, Jim. If I had one of those places, it might be worth the crazy wind!
My son lives up in Chicago now. Next time I go up there, I may see about taking that tour, as these images look quite nice.
It is worth it!
